The South is brimming with all manner of  libations.  If you're looking for a classic, consider Chatham Artillery Punch as a show-stopper at your next soiree.  Affectionately known as the "famous Savannah Charmer," this punch will surely cast its spell on your guests.  Named for Georgia's oldest military unit, and dating back to the colonial era, this southern concoction packs quite the "punch."

Chatham Artillery Punch

Two days before serving, soak 2 ounces green tea in a quart of cold water.  After about a day and a half, mix the infused water with the juice of 3 lemons and half a pound of brown sugar.  Add one quart apiece of dark rum, brandy and bourbon.  Let it mingle together for 8 hours.  Pour the mixture over a block of ice in a large punch bowl.  Add 3 bottles of champagne or Proseco and sliced oranges.  Buckle your seat belt.
